As a Customs and Border Protection Officer (CBPO), you will be part of an elite team of highly trained professionals who are dedicated to protecting America's borders, enforcing laws, and safeguarding national security.
The CBPO role involves various responsibilities including:
  • Enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws
  • Facilitating trade and travel while preventing illicit activity
In addition to your duties as a CBPO, you will also have opportunities for professional growth and development through training programs such as the 101-day Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) academy. Successful completion of this program is required for this position.
Please note that candidates must meet certain requirements to qualify for this position:
  1. Citizenship: You must be a U.S. citizen.
  2. Residency: You must have had primary U.S. residency for at least three years out of the past five years.
You may also be eligible for an excepted service Veterans Recruitment Appointment (VRA). The age restriction does not apply if you are Veterans' Preference eligible.
