Border Patrol Agent: A Law Enforcement Career Opportunity

As a Border Patrol Agent, you will play a vital role in protecting America's borders from illegal entry, smuggling, and other threats. You will be responsible for detecting and preventing unauthorized entries into the country, apprehending violators of immigration laws, and conducting inspections at ports of entry.

To qualify for this position, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level performing duties such as:

• Detecting physical evidence related to violations by using various forms of detection equipment.


• Pursuing violators over terrain or water that involves wading through rivers or climbing hills.


• Gathering information regarding cases or activities under investigation using surveillance techniques (e.g., aerial surveillance).
