About the Role
As an accountant at Summit Tools, you will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of the organization. You will be responsible for ensuring the accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and collaborating with various departments to safeguard the financial integrity and support its continued growth.
Responsibilities
Provide support or backup across all aspects of Accounts Payable processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and efficiency.
Maintain accurate and well-organized financial records in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Maintain detailed account schedules to ensure accuracy, consistency and compliance.
Assist with regulatory filings, including GST, PST, QST, etc.
Process volume and advertising rebate claims, verifying eligibility and ensuring timely resolution.
Conduct regular bank reconciliations to monitor account activity and maintain accurate cash balances.
Prepare various financial reports and statements.
Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, preparing journal entries and supporting schedules.
Perform any ad hoc duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance preferred.
Minimum 3+ years of hands-on, full-cycle accounting experience.
Required Skills
Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills.
High attention to detail, with proactive communication and strong analytical and organizational skills.
Proficient in MS Office 365 with strong Excel skills.
Effective time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to plan and schedule work based on deadlines and available resources.
Be able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
