We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Proposal Specialist to support our Business Development team in Saint John, NB.
Reporting to the Customer Contracts Supervisor, this role plays a key part in driving business growth through the development of high-quality, compelling proposals. The successful candidate will quickly build credibility by collaborating across teams to produce proposal submissions that align with strategic objectives and clearly articulate our value proposition and differentiators. This is a fast-paced role suited to someone who is deadline-driven, adaptable, and able to think both critically and creatively.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, write, and edit persuasive proposals in response to RFPs, RFQs, and other tender opportunities
Partner with internal customers of varying levels of understanding, knowledge, etc to gather input, validate information, and ensure accuracy
Analyze complex requirements and translate them into clear, compliant, and compelling content
Ensure all submissions meet client specifications, branding guidelines, and internal quality standards
Manage multiple proposals and priorities simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
Maintain proposal templates and marketing collateral
Support continuous improvement of proposal tools, content, and processes
Participate in post-submission reviews and contribute to lessons learned
Assist with supplier setup documentation and related administrative requirements
Proactively monitor relevant portals and platforms for new opportunities
Provide general administrative support as required
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in proposal writing or technical writing, with a strong focus on RFPs, RFQs RFIs, and similar solicitation
University degree preferred, ideally in Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field is preferred
Experience in wholesale supply, manufacturing, or a related industry is strongly preferred
Excellent listening and comprehension skills, with the ability to synthesize information, even in moments of ambiguity
Creative and strategic thinker who can clearly articulate business value and differentiators
Knowledge of Contract Language & Law is considered an asset
Moderate to advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Solid understanding of procurement processes and business development strategies
Strong independent thinking and problem-solving abilities
Exceptional attention to detail and precision in written communication
Proven ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
Adaptable and focused, with a strong sense of ownership
