Capital Engineering is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our Edmonton team. In this role, you will provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary projects from concept through construction (support), mentor engineers, and work directly with clients to deliver safe, practical, and constructable solutions.

What You'll Do
• Lead mechanical engineering design for piping, pumping, and slurry transport systems in accordance with ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, and relevant industry standards.
• Develop and review engineering deliverables including calculations, specifications, datasheets, and technical reports.
• Prepare and review construction and engineering work packages.
• Provide technical oversight and stamping of deliverables as required.
• Interface with clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams including Process, Civil/Structural, Electrical, and Instrumentation.
• Support constructability reviews and provide site support during construction as required
• Ensure designs comply with Canadian codes and standards.
• Contribute to project proposals, scope development, and cost estimates.
• Mentor and support the professional development of junior engineers.
What We're Looking For
• 8+ years of progressive mechanical engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer designation registered with APEGA.
• Experience with tailings systems, slurry pipelines, and industrial facilities.
• Experience preparing construction and engineering work packages, including review and stamping of deliverables such as isometrics, line designation tables, and tie-point lists.
• Experience supporting construction, field execution, and commissioning activities.
• Familiarity with industrial safety and reliability requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to lead technical discussions and engage directly with clients.
