We are now looking for a highly technical Senior QA Engineer to own performance and stability across our DTC and edge-device ecosystem.
*Role Overview*
This is not a traditional QA checklist role. We need someone who can move fast, think deeply, and trace issues all the way to their root cause — particularly across iOS, Android, and connected TV environments.
Much of the work will focus on:
* Application crashes
* Memory overflow and leaks
* CPU/GPU spikes
* Rendering instability
* Device- and OS-specific edge cases
* Performance degradation under load
You will work closely with engineering and leadership to ensure builds are stable, performant, and executive-demo ready.
This role is fully on-site in NYC.
*Key Responsibilities*
*Device & Performance Testing*
* Test across iOS, Android, Apple TV, Android TV, Roku, and other connected devices
* Reproduce and isolate crashes across OS versions and hardware generations
* Analyze crash logs, device diagnostics, and profiling data
* Stress test rendering pipelines and animation systems
* Validate performance in constrained memory and bandwidth environments
* Own regression and release validation before partner demos and deployments
*Root Cause Analysis*
* Go beyond “it broke” — identify why it broke
* Work directly with engineers to isolate issues across:
* Application layer
* OS/device layer
* Rendering pipeline
* Network stack
* Provide detailed reproduction steps and technical breakdowns
* Verify fixes and ensure regression safety
*Executive & Client Interaction*
* Run live demos for executives and board members
* Support high-visibility client demonstrations
* Communicate technical issues clearly to engineers, clients, and non-technical stakeholders
* Stay calm and solutions-oriented in time-sensitive situations
*Qualifications*
*Required*
* 5+ years of software QA experience with strong technical depth
* Hands-on testing experience across edge devices (iOS, Android, Smart TVs, connected devices)
* Strong understanding of crash diagnostics, memory management, and performance profiling
* Experience tracing issues to root cause across multiple system layers
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Comfortable working on-site in NYC
*Preferred*
* Experience with graphics rendering, real-time visual systems, or streaming platforms
* Familiarity with Xcode Instruments, Android Studio Profiler, or similar tools
* Experience debugging GPU- or animation-related issues
* Background in sports tech, broadcast tech, ad-tech, or interactive media
* Basic scripting experience (Python or JavaScript)
*Compensation*
Base Salary Range: $135,000 – $175,000
Final compensation will depend on experience, technical depth, and device/platform expertise.
