Pay $ $38.46 CAD per hour  


Summary

The Assistant Shop Supervisor supports daily shop operations, ensuring equipment reliability, safety program and Operational Excellence compliance, and effective workflow coordination. This role provides leadership to the team, supports and executes preventative maintenance and TPM programs, and acts as the primary backup to the Shop Supervisor. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, organizational ability, and customer‑focused communication.



Responsibilities
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in leadership or supervisory role.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work safely and follow all safety procedures.
  • Experienced working in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Shows commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Capable to assume the responsibilities of the Shop Supervisor during absences.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to coach, guide, and support team members.
  • Strong dedication to the role, including reliable attendance, willingness to work overtime, and responsiveness to call-ins.
  • Capable of planning, organizing, and coordinating job tasks effectively.
  • Comprehensive understanding of all shop responsibilities and workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of materials used in the shop and their appropriate applications.
  • Proficient in operating, troubleshooting, and repairing shop equipment in accordance with SOPs and SJPs.
  • Responsible for tracking and performing preventive maintenance on all equipment.
  • Maintains accurate inventory levels of replacement parts and supplies.
  • Supports trials by assisting with operational execution and data tracking.
  • Comfortable using computers for data entry, reporting, and basic administrative tasks.


Qualifications

Knowledge

  • A minimum Grade 12 high school diploma.
  • Good mechanical skills and ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English, both written and verbally.

Skills & Abilities

  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong time-management skills.
  • Ability to schedule and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Reliable and dependable employee.

Physical & Mental Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to withstand constant standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and sitting.
  • Able to work in hot and cold environments.
  • Able to carry, lift, push, and pull heavy objects.
  • Must be able to handle high levels of stress.

Obligations

  • Required to carry and answer a company cell phone for call-ins and overtime.
  • Must always maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Position requires high dependability and punctuality.
