Job Summary
A Brief Overview
The Information Technology Services department requires a Technical Analyst on our Digital Productivity and Collaboration team to operate and support the Microsoft 365 platform at the University. The Technical Analyst will work closely with other analysts, administrators, and specialists to enable, automate, and maintain an array of services and applications offered within this environment.
In support of Microsoft 365 services including Teams Voice, Microsoft Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Defender, Purview, and other complementary applications and systems —the Technical Analyst will provide operational support, including incident handling and request fulfillment. The role supports the day-to-day operation and continuous improvement of these services, ensuring timely resolution, effective service delivery, and the development and maintenance of documentation, including related procedures. The Technical Analyst will also support automation initiatives and apply programming skills—including proficiency in PowerShell, Power Automate, Microsoft Graph API, and related tools—to improve efficiency and streamline operational processes.
This position completes system-related new staff setups, access requests, hardware requests and training setups. This position troubleshoots problems with software, hardware, installation and upgrades, and configures, installs, tests, updates, maintains, backs-up, supports, and administers multi-user systems and server applications. This position supports users through technical knowledge to ensure proper use of software and hardware. This position also identifies staff system requirements and develops and implements deployment schedules.
As a member of the Digital Productivity and Collaboration team this position will be involved in implementing and supporting Microsoft 365 and email services as evolving technology is leveraged to meet the needs of a diverse University community. This role requires technical knowledge to resolve problems autonomously and anticipate problems and act to mitigate any risk. Strong communication skills and a focus on customer service are fundamental to success in the role.

Job Description
What you will do
• Completes work from ticket workflow including new staff setups, access requests, hardware requests and/or training setups.
• Troubleshoots problems with software, hardware, installation and upgrades.
• Configures, installs, tests, updates, maintains, backs-up, supports, and administers multi-user systems and server applications.
• Configures systems and security on software to protect data by encryption and domain password security.
• Maintains documentation on installation and configuration specifications.
• Supports users through technical knowledge to ensure proper use of software and hardware.
Required Education
• Three-year Community College Diploma or Three-Year Bachelor Degree, or equivalent. In addition, requires trade certification, qualification, or on-going learning to remain ahead of changes in technology or emerging fields.
Required Experience
• More than 2 years and up to and including 3 years of experience.
• Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
