We provide environmental compliance programs for manufacturers, distributors and retailers of electronics and represent the largest network of qualified processors and drop-off locations in Canada.
Our mandate is to ensure end-of-life electronics are handled in a safe, secure and environmentally-sound manner.
We currently have a job opportunity for a Compliance Analyst based out of our Mississauga head office located at 5750 Explorer Drive. This is for an existing full-time, permanent position.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Manager of Compliance, the Compliance Analyst is responsible for conducting audits of Stewards to ensure they meet regulatory requirements and the reporting and remittance programs are being followed. This also includes providing education as updates and changes to provincial regulations and programs are made. Stewards are located across Canada and the Compliance Analyst is required to travel significantly.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct compliance audits to ensure Stewards meet regulatory requirements
Communicate and coordinate with Stewards throughout the process
Educate stewards on reporting and remittance requirements
Investigate steward documentation, conduct tests and quantify errors
Prepare audit reports to effectively and succinctly communicate and summarize findings
Consider and implement improvements in compliance audit protocols and processes
Assist with general ad hoc tasks as required
Qualifications
University Degree or College Diploma with a background in accounting and/or auditing is an asset
A minimum of 4 years of work experience in the field of accounting, analysis, compliance, finance or similar area requiring detailed research and documentation
An academic and/or hands-on background in finance and accounting is a strong asset
Demonstrated knowledge of financial reporting processes and requirements
Worked in a team environment
Must have a valid drivers licence, insurance and own personal vehicle
French/English bilingualism is considered an asset
Competencies
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Has great attention to detail, thoroughness and accuracy
Demonstrate critical thinking skills to handle complex situations
Thrives on self-discipline and works well without supervision
Capacity to learn new software systems and processes with minimal instruction
Able to present information in a clear and concise manner
Exhibits professionalism and a strong sense of integrity

Salary Range
$54,000 to $64,000
