Role Summary:
The Senior Logistics Manager is accountable for the full operational performance of the Canadian logistics team. This role leads carrier procurement, account management, service execution and team development to deliver profitable growth, operational discipline, and high service standards.
The incumbent owns regional performance, capacity strategy, KPI execution, and employee performance management. Decisions directly impact revenue, margin, customer retention, and carrier relationships.

Office based role with standard equipment. Occasional travel within Canada as required.
Key Accountabilities:
Operational Leadership
- Lead day to day Canadian logistics operations, including carrier procurement and account management teams.
- Ensure service execution meets contractual commitments and internal performance standards.
- Resolving escalations with urgency and clear root cause corrective actions.
- Enforce compliance of operating procedures across the region.
- Monitor lane profitability, carrier cost performance, and pricing adherence.
- Track and report KPI's including service levels, margin performance, capacity utilization and productivity metrics.
- Implement corrective action plans when targets are missed.
- Build and maintain a scalable Canadian carrier network.
- Negotiate rates and secure capacity aligned with margin objectives.
- Monitor carrier performance, compliance, and risk exposure.
- Reduce reliance on non-preferred carriers through sourcing strategy.
- Directly manage and develop Canadian logistics team members.
- Set clear annual objectives alongside company targets.
- Conduct performance reviews and continuous coaching.
- Manage workload allocation, and productivity standards.
- Partner with Sales, Finance, and Operations leadership to align growth and execution strategies.
- Pricing recommendations within margin thresholds.
- Carrier selection and termination decisions.
- Hiring, performance discipline, termination recommendations.
- Operational policy enforcement within the Canadian region.
- Performs other duties as required
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who brings:
Education & Experience:
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related field
- Minimum 7+ years progressive experience in a 3PL / freight brokerage operation.
- Demonstrated leadership of logistics teams.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian transportation regulations and market dynamics.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
- Financial acumen and margin management discipline.
- Decisive leadership and accountability mindset.
- Strong problem-solving capability.
- Clear communication across executive and operational levels.
- High standards for execution and follow-through.
