About

We are looking for a Stormwater Engineer with a passion for delivering the right solution to serve each client's unique needs and a commitment to developing practical designs and approaches for stormwater management for sustainable development. Our stormwater group includes expertise in stormwater management planning and design for site and watershed-scale development and re-development, and supporting municipal clients to understand the needs and opportunities for drainage upgrades and multi-benefit facilities for conveyance, flood protection, rate and volume control and water quality improvement.

What You'll Do

  • Developing master drainage plans, watershed and site-based integrated stormwater management plans, and capital plans;
  • Undertaking drainage and stormwater-related design projects for municipal clients and coordinating with other disciplines including civil to deliver projects;
  • Developing concept, preliminary, and detailed designs for green infrastructure in various urban and suburban contexts, culverts, detention ponds, storm sewers and other stormwater and related facilities;
  • Training and supervising junior staff; and
  • Report and proposal writing
  • What You'll Bring

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia or another Canadian Province
  • 4-8 years of experience in stormwater, water resources, hydrology/hydraulics and other related fields
  • Experience with SWMM-based software, HEC-RAS or other modelling software
  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS is an asset
  • Design and construction experience with stormwater or other infrastructure projects
  • Pro-active attitude with an interest in innovative and client-focused problem-solving
  • Strong report-writing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) and be able to work with team members in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • A desire to learn new skills and an eagerness to grow within your role
  • A valid driver's license (in good standing) is mandatory
  • Must be physically able to conduct field visits commensurate with project work. This may include handling and operation of equipment, travel to remote areas by vehicle, boat, air or foot, and outdoor site visits in all weather conditions on uneven/varying ground terrain.
