With approximately 3,300 employees, JBS Food Canada ULC ("JBS Canada") is one of Canada's largest beef processors. Consisting of four locations—the main processing facility located in Brooks, Alberta, where approximately 4,200 head of cattle are harvested and processed daily; the Head Office and a case ready plant, both based in Calgary, Alberta; and JBS Ontario, a case ready plant located in Belleville, Ontario. The JBS Canada facility in Brooks has the capacity to produce products ranging from boxed beef primals, ground beef, beef trimmings, beef by-products and hides which are shipped across Canada and worldwide. At the multi-protein Mountain Creek Farms case-ready facility in Calgary, JBS Canada produces value-added products including marinated, portion sized, multi-pack options, kebabs and much more. JBS Ontario in Belleville produces fresh meat and seafood products for leading retailers in Canada.
At JBS Canada, our people are our greatest asset. We are very proud to have a team of high achieving, engaged employees. We are currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist for 12-month leave coverage to join our team at our JBS Ontario facility in Belleville, ON.
The Human Resources Generalist (12-month contract) possesses excellent communication skills and has experience onboarding employees. The Human Resources Generalist supports the HR department in a variety of functions. The Human Resources Generalist will present a professional attitude when dealing with both internal and external contacts and will endeavor to create a team atmosphere.
NOTE: This position will be located in Belleville, ON
You Will
Lead the settlement regulatory requirements and permanent residency program
Assist in off-site recruitment initiatives
Ensure objectives are met in providing the best employee experience possible through effective onboarding of new hires along with cross training of employees on a number of jobs
Administer parts of Human Resources (HR) related information and data sources, including updating information as needed which includes entering new incumbents into the HR management systems
Assist with benefit and pension administration
Assist JBS Foods employees with various concerns and queries
Support the Human Resource function as required
Provide support for company events as needed
Other duties as deemed necessary by the organization
You Have
Post-secondary education in Business, Human Resources or related program.
1-3 years of related experience within a unionized manufacturing environment and Temporary Foreign Worker Program
Proficient in Microsoft office applications
Possess excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
Be committed working within a team environment
Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative
Annual Salary: $50,000-$63,000 based on experience
Contract: 12 months with possibility of extension
