The mine is located a short drive from Wawa, deep in the forest where it is scenic and quiet. It is a real 'boots on the ground' setting. Team members reside in a camp environment and typically work on rotations, depending on the position. The camp offers excellent food, a sauna/gym, recreational room and the opportunity to stay connected with family and friends.
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Mechanic Apprentice to join our Maintenance team at Eagle River Mine. This position provides hands-on training and mentorship while assisting experienced Heavy Duty and Truck & Coach Mechanics with the maintenance and repair of mobile and stationary mining equipment.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your trade skills in an industrial mining environment while progressing through your apprenticeship hours.

Position Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Job Duties
- Assist with preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy mobile and fixed equipment
- Support troubleshooting and repair of haul trucks, loaders, scoops, drills, service vehicles, and auxiliary equipment
- Perform oil changes, component replacements, and basic mechanical repairs
- Assist with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical system repairs
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders
- Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and company standards
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
- Work in both underground and surface environments
Qualifications and Experience
- Eligible to register for Heavy Equipment Technician (421A or Truck & Coach Technician 310T)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Previous shop, industrial, or mining experience considered an asset
- Valid driver's license (DZ an asset)
- Ability to work shift rotations and in a remote camp setting
- Physically capable of performing manual labour in various weather and underground conditions
Working Conditions / Schedule
Location: Eagle River Mine Site, Near Wawa, ON
Shift / Hours of Work: 12-hours
Schedule / Rotation: 14 days on, 14 days off
Type of Hire: Permanent Full-Time
