About

The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for prioritizing and optimizing the overall performance of program/project cost-schedule monitoring and control 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide hands-on support for Capital program financial tracking, planning, budgeting, forecasting, administration, invoicing, reporting, and financial controls to ensure capital program targets are achieved. Assist in the planning, monitoring, and budget control of the Operating Expense Program.
  • Analyze cost and schedule metrics and KPIs to monitor project and program performance, and prepare weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly financial reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Support the administration and coordination of the Project Management Office.
  • Deliver consistent updates to responsible managers, including status summaries, performance insights, critical path reviews, and related analysis.
  • Collaborate with TPA departments and stakeholders on schedule integration and related project issues as needed. Support team members in meeting all project reporting requirements.
  • Deliver capital reporting requirements to support Finance in providing accurate and timely information to internal TPA stakeholders and external City stakeholders. Collaborate with the team to create internal order numbers and manage project budgets within SAP. 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • University degree or college diploma in business or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • 2-4 years' experience in project controls
  • Previous project controls experience in engineering consulting, construction or municipal government environment is an asset.
  • Demonstrates strong financial literacy, including a solid understanding of capital versus operating expenditures and their impact on budgeting, forecasting, and project planning.
  • Must be proficient with MS Project, Excel, Power Point, and Word.
  • Experience working with SAP, Power BI, Vena or Jira would be an asset.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong written and oral communication skills
