Border Patrol Agent Job Overview

This role involves protecting the nation's borders by deterring illicit activity and enhancing economic prosperity.

• Detecting individuals suspected of violating immigration laws through inspections, document checks, citizenship verification, and preventing aliens smuggling at or near the border using surveillance equipment during night operations. Interpreting tracks, marks, and other physical evidence to identify illegal entry persons and contraband.


• Conducting farm checks, building checks, traffic checks city patrols transportation inspections patrolling international boundary coastal waterways government assets vehicles horses vessels off-road ATVs snowmobiles motorcycles to accomplish the USBP mission.
