HEABC leads and supports the strategic planning related to human resources and labour relations on behalf of British Columbia's publicly funded health employers. HEABC is responsible for negotiating provincial agreements for 138,000 unionized health care employees including nurses, physician residents, ambulance paramedics, health science professionals, and more.

HEABC's Human Resources, Strategies & Services (HRSS) department is responsible for the administration of a number of Health Human Resource initiatives across the province. OPPORTUNITY:

Reporting to the Manager, Nursing Recruitment Services, the Administrative Assistant, Nursing (Bursaries) provides a variety of clerical and administrative support services to support the effective delivery of initiatives and projects aimed at supporting nursing candidates in becoming successfully registered and employed in British Columbia.

The Administrative Assistant will support the administration of financial supports, and is responsible for receiving applications, maintaining database information, compiling data/reports, providing support services to Associates and communicating with applicants and program partners.

Position Requirements:

  • Must consistently deliver exceptional client/customer service, communicating in a professional, friendly, and articulate manner.
  • Ability to expertly manage demanding workloads and meet deadlines as required with minimal supervision.
  • Must be team focused, detail-oriented, supportive, and foster a positive work environment through strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent numeracy and communication (written & verbal) skills.

Required Experience:

  • Successful completion of grade twelve (12) supplemented by human resources, customer service or business training.
  • Three years of recent experience in a similar client/customer service role, or a combination of education, training and experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Previous accounting or finance experience will be considered an asset.

Salary Range: $48,476 to $63,624

Typical Hiring Range: $48,476 to $60,594

In determining salary, HEABC considers many factors including the successful candidate's skillset and experience as well as internal equity. The final salary offer will be at HEABC's sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
