Important: This project is for professionally printed physical books - not digital eBooks or Amazon KDP-only publications. Applicants must have experience preparing files for offset or professional print production.
Project Overview
- Target age: 3-6 years
- 8-10 content spreads per book
- English (LTR) and Arabic (RTL) COMBINED layout
- Dual-direction cover (English front / Arabic front)
- Full-page story illustrations
- English text on one page, Arabic text on facing page
- Embedded vocabulary words
- Illustrated vocabulary icons
Illustration Style Requirements
We require two complementary styles:
1. Soft, classic storybook illustration style
- Warm, child-friendly
- Possibly watercolor-inspired
- Emotionally expressive
2. Vocabulary icons in a 3D/Pixar-inspired style
- Clean, dimensional
- Separate asset exports required
Required Experience
- Please apply only if you have experience with:
- Preparing print-ready files (CMYK, bleed, crop marks)
- Full-bleed layouts
- Spine calculation
- Working with printers or publishers
- Delivering layered source files (AI/PSD/INDD)
- Designing bilingual or RTL layouts (preferred but not mandatory)
- If you have worked on offset-printed children's books, please mention this explicitly in your application.
Deliverables
- Print-ready PDF (CMYK, with bleed)
- Layered working files
- Separate illustration files
- Separate vocabulary icon exports
- Editable layout files
- Properly typeset Arabic layout (if experienced)
Additional Information
This is intended to be a scalable series (20+ titles long-term).
We are open to discussing pricing structure (per spread / per book / series pricing).
Please include:
- Portfolio examples of printed children's books
- A brief note confirming your print production experience
- Your pricing structure (per spread or per book)
Contract duration of more than 6 months. with 40 hours per week.
Mandatory skills: Illustration, Book Cover, Print Design, Graphic Design, Adobe Illustrator
