LabTest Certification Inc. is a Canadian-based Testing, Inspection, and Certification Body with a head office in Delta, BC (Canada), and additional locations in Richmond, BC (Canada), Toronto, ON (Canada), and Las Vegas, NV (USA).
A well-established company with over 20 years in the TIC industry is seeking a Test Technician (Gas & Plumbing) to join its Delta team. This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in gas appliances (including testing, technical maintenance, or repairs), or those holding a degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, who are interested in applying their technical knowledge in a regulated laboratory environment. The position supports product safety evaluation and certification activities under the supervision and direction of senior technical staff. It offers the opportunity to build specialized expertise in gas and plumbing product compliance.

If you have the following, you may be the person we are looking for:
Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
Willingness to learn product safety testing and certification processes in a regulated environment
Basic understanding of gas, plumbing, and mechanical principles
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures and safety instructions
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a technical team under supervision
Professional verbal and written communication skills
A structured, methodical approach to hands-on technical work
If hired, what will you be doing at LabTest?
Key duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Reading and evaluating products to CSA/UL/ASME/EN standards and preparing test procedures
Completing construction evaluations
Preparing test setups according to test procedures and conducting tests
Preparing test reports (CE, Listing, etc.)
Communicating with clients regarding product evaluations
Completing general administrative tasks relevant to the project
Assisting in other projects as needed (Gas/EMC/Plumbing/Solar)
Providing customer service and maintaining lab organization
Collaborating with Sales to prioritize projects and capabilities

If hired, what will be the working conditions?
8 hours/day, primarily in-office laboratory-based work
Hands-on testing of gas appliances and plumbing systems, including working with pressurized gas lines, and mechanical equipment
Occasional flexibility in hours or overtime may be required to meet testing schedules
Travel may be required at times to support testing or witnessed activities (local or international; valid passport required)
