What You'll Do
Role
The OpEx/CapEx Project Manager plays a critical role in driving CoolIT's operational excellence and strategic growth. This position is responsible for leading cross-functional initiatives that enhance manufacturing capability, scale global operations, optimize cost structures, and enable strategic infrastructure expansion. The role offers the opportunity to influence both near-term operational performance and long-term business transformation through disciplined, data-driven project leadership. This is a great opportunity for highly skilled Project Managers with experience in the Advanced Technology sector.
Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end project management for OpEx (Operational Excellence), CapEx (Capital Expenditures), and strategic operational projects, ensuring alignment with CoolIT's key strategic objectives and value stream priorities.
Develop comprehensive project charters, scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans; obtain required approvals via PMO/Finance processes.
Manage financials across OpEx and CapEx budgets—including ROI requirements, adherence to Budget IDs, cost tracking, and alignment with NetSuite and ClickUp governance.
Oversee execution of infrastructure, equipment, automation, and process‑improvement initiatives, ensuring readiness of facilities, manufacturing lines, and supporting systems.
Coordinate cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, IT, and Finance to ensure synchronized delivery.
Conduct risk assessments, mitigation planning, and active issue management to maintain project health and timeline adherence.
Ensure adherence to PMO methodologies, including change control, documentation, lessons learned, and ClickUp/SharePoint governance.
Provide structured communication through project updates, executive summaries, milestone reviews, and stakeholder presentations.
Drive continuous improvement and standardization of project workflows, reporting tools, and operational processes.
Example Projects
Stand-up of new manufacturing lines and related automation equipment.
Facility expansions, production footprint redesigns, and infrastructure upgrades.
Implementation of efficiency-driven continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., throughput increases, takt time reduction, cost avoidance).
Procurement and commissioning of capital equipment (end of line test stations, tooling, test equipment, lab infrastructure).
Cross-functional initiatives involving supply chain resilience, quality improvements, or production scaling.
Who You Are
Basic Qualifications:
Engineering/Technical diploma or bachelor's degree;
5+ years of proven experience managing complex OpEx, CapEx, or continuous improvement projects in a manufacturing, engineering, or technology environment.
Strong proficiency in project management methodologies and tools (PM, PLM, ERP, MES)
Ability to manage budgets, financial analysis, and ROI-driven decision-making.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and cross-functional facilitation skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent certifications considered an asset.
Experience in ClickUp, SharePoint, NetSuite, Factory Logix preferred.
