About
Reporting to the Medical Director / Supervising Physician, the Physician Assistant will be responsible for providing comprehensive primary care services, supporting diagnostic and treatment planning, and promoting patient-centered preventive health initiatives within a collaborative family medicine setting.
If you are a graduate of a recognized Physician Assistant program and eligible for certification and licensure in Saskatchewan, and have clinical experience in a primary health clinic environment, then this opportunity is for you Join a progressive clinic that is expanding access to primary care through innovative team-based practice.
This position is part of a newly developed Innovation Fund between the Saskatchewan Government and medical clinics across Saskatchewan with the aim of improving patient access and quality care through team-based support, that will deliver better access to primary care in the province of Saskatchewan. This position is temporary until March 31, 2027, with the possibility of an extension.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive patient interviews, medical histories, and physical examinations.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
Prescribe medications within scope of practice and under physician supervision.
Provide chronic disease management, preventive care, and patient education.
Document all clinical encounters accurately within the EMR system.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
Support efficient patient flow and assist with clinic operations as required.
Maintain compliance with professional standards, privacy legislation, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Graduate of a recognized Physician Assistant program.
Certified or eligible for certification with the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants (CAPA).
Licensed or eligible for licensure with the Saskatchewan College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience preferred; new graduates may be considered.
Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both independently within scope and collaboratively within a team-based model of care.
