About
We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Receiving Clerk to join our warehouse operations in Madison, Wisconsin. This position is key to ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all incoming goods. You will be responsible for verifying deliveries against purchase orders, inspecting incoming shipments for damage, documenting receipts, and properly storing received items. The ideal candidate has excellent organizational skills, a strong sense of accuracy, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and orderly receiving area. This role requires interaction with suppliers and internal departments, making communication skills important. You will be an integral part of our logistics and supply chain process. We value individuals who are proactive and diligent in their work. Strict adherence to Safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from carriers.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and invoices.
- Inspect shipments for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Document all incoming receipts accurately.
- Tag and label inventory as required.
- Store received goods in appropriate warehouse locations.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Communicate with purchasing and other departments regarding receiving discrepancies.
- Follow all company Safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, warehousing, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and data entry.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting, up to 50 lbs.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of warehouse Safety procedures.
- Familiarity with Logistics documentation is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
