A Customs Protection Officer (CPO) is responsible for enforcing customs, immigration and agriculture laws while facilitating legitimate trade and travel. They also conduct inspections of individuals and conveyances determining their admissibility into the United States. Additionally, they prevent illegal entry of people or prohibited goods along with smuggling of contraband drugs.
