Duties and Responsibilities
The duties of a Border Patrol Agent include:
- detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration laws;
- inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship status or violations;
- preventing undocumented noncitizens and smugglers from entering or exiting the country through farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols, transportation checks.
