REPORTS TO: Director of Programs
POSITION SUMMARY
The Motorcycle Training Program Manager is responsible for the effective day-to-day operation and delivery of the Ottawa Safety Council's (OSC's) motorcycle training programs. The role ensures programs are safe, compliant, well-organized, and delivered with a high standard of customer service and volunteer engagement.
Working closely with the Director of Programs, who provides strategic oversight of program growth and long-term infrastructure planning, the Program Manager provides operational leadership, identifies improvement opportunities, and contributes informed recommendations to support the program's sustainability and success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Operations & Delivery
· Manage the day-to-day planning, coordination, and delivery of motorcycle training programs.
· Ensure full compliance with the Driver Certification Program and all applicable Ministry requirements.
· Ensure programs operate in accordance with OSC policies, procedures, and safety standards.
· Identify operational risks, track incidents, and implement corrective actions as required.
· Monitor program budgets and manage resources within approved parameters.
· Track and report on key performance indicators, including program participation and customer satisfaction.
Volunteer & Instructor Support
· Coordinate and support Volunteer Instructors and program volunteers, fostering positive relationships and clear expectations.
· Serve as the primary operational point of contact for volunteers during the training season.
· Escalate complex volunteer, safety, or performance issues to the Director of Programs as appropriate.
Administration & Systems
· Maintain and oversee the online registration system for students and volunteers.
· Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant program records and documentation.
· Provide required information to Finance related to payments, volunteer allowances/reimbursements, equipment purchases, and program expenses.
· Respond to inquiries from students, partners, community organizations, and the general public in a professional and timely manner.
Fleet, Sites & Vendors
· Coordinate the management, maintenance, and scheduling of the motorcycle fleet.
· Conduct routine site inspections to ensure training locations and equipment meet safety and operational requirements.
· Support efforts to identify and assess suitable training locations, working collaboratively with the Director of Programs and external partners.
· Maintain vendor relationships and support sourcing of equipment and services as required.
Program Improvement & Growth
· Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, program quality, and participant experience.
· Contribute operational insight and recommendations to support program growth and sustainability.
· Support marketing and outreach initiatives to promote programs and increase enrollment.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Required:
· 3–5 years of relevant experience in program coordination, operations, volunteer management, or a related role.
· Demonstrated experience working with and/or supporting volunteers.
· Strong organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent customer service and communication skills.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and online registration or database systems.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a seasonal, fast-paced environment.
· Valid driver's licence, clean driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle.
· English required; French an asset.
Assets:
· Experience with motorcycle training programs or motorcycles (including riding experience).
· Knowledge of Ministry of Transportation licensing requirements or compliance-based programs.
· Experience with fleet or equipment management.
· Program development or continuous improvement experience.
· Familiarity with local motorcycle retailers or vendor networks.
WORKING CONDITIONS
· Occasional lifting of items up to 30 lbs.
· Local travel required.
· Occasional evening and weekend work, particularly during peak season (April–June).
· Increased workload during program start-up and delivery periods.
