We are looking for a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our Atlanta, Georgia facility. This role is essential for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management, including conducting regular cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and implementing process improvements to minimize errors. Your analytical skills will be critical in identifying trends, investigating stock issues, and ensuring optimal stock levels. This position requires a thorough understanding of inventory control principles and best practices within a logistics environment. You will work closely with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to ensure seamless inventory flow and accurate record-keeping. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, and you must be knowledgeable about and adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The ideal candidate is proactive, possesses excellent problem-solving abilities, and is adept at using inventory management software and tools. Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly and effectively.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, patterns, and potential issues.
- Manage and reconcile stock adjustments, transfers, and returns.
- Work with operations teams to optimize inventory placement and organization.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce inventory shrinkage and improve accuracy.
- Train and guide other team members on inventory control procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and proper use of PPE.
- Assist with auditing incoming and outgoing shipments for inventory accuracy.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and logistics operations.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
