We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Washington, D.C. In this role, you will be responsible for the movement, storage, and organization of materials throughout our warehouse facility. Your primary duties will include operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring that inventory is accurately tracked and stored. This position is crucial to the efficient operation of our logistics network, ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods. You will work closely with the warehouse management team to maintain a high standard of operational efficiency and safety. Adherence to all company policies and procedures, particularly those related to safety and material handling, is paramount. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety. Experience with various types of material handling equipment is preferred. This includes frequent bending, stooping, and maintaining balance while operating machinery. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other vehicles.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Perform regular equipment inspections and maintenance.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Experience with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks including frequent Lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
