The ideal candidate should have excellent problem-solving skills, be able to remain calm under stress, have good physical health, and pass rigorous training at Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC). , which covers topics such as firearms proficiency, detection techniques, safety protocols,and legal matters involved in border security enforcement .Candidates must meet specific requirements prior to appointment, including being U.S. citizens,belonging to one of these specified backgrounds that require additional assessment , having no history of crime or arrests,the ability &candidacy cannot exceed age 40 unless already serving federal civilian LE position) . It is also recommended that applicants who served active duty military time get noticed by right preference hiring practices .
