QualificationsCertifications: Registered in Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) within 1 year - VariesVaries; Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)American Heart Association (AHA); Licensed Radiologic Technologist - Nuclear Medicine - Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA)Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA); Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) within 1 year - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), Education: Certificate of Completion: Nuclear Medicine; Bachelor's Degree: Related Field; Associate's Degree: Radiologic Technology, Work Experience: ResponsibilitiesClinical Excellence/Patient CarePerforms diagnostic Nuclear Medicine procedures in a manner that ensures an accurate and complete examination within the guidelines, policies, procedures and standards of Medical Imaging to assigned patients of all ages.Exhibits competency in performing diagnostic imaging and radionuclide therapyCompletes scheduling, ordering radiopharmaceutical and patient preparation guidelinesPerforms and documents administrations of all RadiopharmaceuticalsMaintains quality care throughout the procedure practicing radiation protection maintaining personal exposure ALARAPerforms required equipment quality controlDocuments quality control records and images camera floodsFollows all conditions of MMCI radioactive material license and IDNS regulationsCompletes all radiation safety documentationPossesses knowledge and skills necessary to obtain adequate lab specimens for testing.Performs patient bedside lab testing and associated quality control in compliance with medical provider’s orders and hospital lab procedures/policies.Clinical ExcellenceMaintains working knowledge of equipment and procedures in order to function in multiple areas of the department.Technically knowledgeable of equipment operation and performs reasonable troubleshootingChecks and observes equipment for general safety and appropriate operationMaintains clean work area, checks and stocks all supplies in their specific area and verifies pertinent accessories assigned to that roomKnowledgeable of Hot Lab and proceduresReceives radioactive packages; prepares doses for disposition; maintains radioactive waste for storageKnowledgeable of thyroid ablations and therapiesFulfills all documentation for IDNS requirementsPerforms Schilling's and Red Cell mass proceduresDemonstrates a practical problem solving approach to patient moving and handling issues.Demonstrates skills to promote patient and staff safety through appropriate use of lift equipment.Building RelationshipsPerforms support functions of the Nuclear Medicine/PET Department to ensure patient expectations and needs are met. Compensation and BenefitsThe compensation range for this position is $37.08per hour - $63.78per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
