The Beverage Server is responsible for delivering a high standard of personable, knowledgeable, and efficient service to all guests. This role plays a key part in creating a positive and memorable dining experience by ensuring that all food and beverage offerings are presented, served, and maintained according to established service standards. The Beverage Server is expected to be attentive, courteous, and proactive in anticipating guest needs while maintaining a professional and welcoming atmosphere at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties of the Food and Beverage Server include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Greet guests promptly and warmly upon arrival, creating a friendly and inviting first impression

  • Present menus, clearly explain menu items, daily specials, promotions, and featured beverages

  • Provide knowledgeable recommendations and answer all guest questions regarding food ingredients, preparation methods, wine pairings, and beverage options

  • Accurately take food and beverage orders and communicate them to the kitchen and bar staff in a timely and organized manner

  • Actively up-sell wine, cocktails, and other beverage items to complement food selections and enhance the overall dining experience

  • Serve all food and beverage orders efficiently and professionally, following proper dining, bar, and safety service techniques

  • Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the service, responding promptly to requests or concerns and resolving issues whenever possible

  • Communicate any guest feedback, special requests, or service issues to the Dining Room Supervisor and/or Chef to ensure prompt resolution

  • Present bills accurately and process payments including cash, credit cards, debit, and member charges in accordance with company procedures

  • Maintain responsibility for cash handling, ensuring accuracy and accountability at all times

  • Ensure that the bar and service areas are properly set up at the start of each shift and continuously cleared, cleaned, and reset throughout service

  • Keep the bar area clean, tidy, fully stocked, and well-organized, including glassware, garnishes, supplies, and beverage stations

  • Adhere to all health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations and company policies

  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, bartenders, supervisors, and fellow servers to ensure smooth and efficient service operations

  • Assist with opening and closing duties as required, including cleaning, restocking, and preparing the service area for the next shift
