Position Summary

The Parking Planning & Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day planning of operations and logistics for the parking team. Ensuring assets, infrastructure and systems are planned and functional/operational. This role provides operational execution oversight and leadership to the parking team while providing exceptional customer service to our guests and internal teams. This role focuses on asset management, logistics and operations planning, safety, guest experience, operational execution, and expense management.

Roles and Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure a safe working environment for the team by creating awareness about potential job-related hazards, safety training on department specific tasks and safety related reporting is completed.
  • Lead by example and foster a positive team culture focused on creating exceptional experiences for our guests, whether internal or external.
  • Day-to-day leadership and supervision of the parking team including operational oversight and execution. Support in hiring, performance management, training, recognition.
  • Ensure department goals related to guest experience, revenue, labour cost and efficiency are balanced and achieved.
  • Ensure all assets are maintained, operational and functioning at a level that meets experiential requirements. This includes physical assets, tow truck operations, shuttles/buses, parking tower, inventory management, etc.
  • Coordination of event requirements including but not limited to attending event production meetings, client meetings and weekly team planning meeting.
  • Provide technical support to staff and customers regarding software applications and website navigation
  • Research and develop future enhancements of data collection, scoring and analysis
  • Lead seasonal staff and show office staff during peak seasons and events
  • Develop and execute special projects and program initiatives as assigned
  • Special projects and project coordination as assigned.
  • Liaise with city partners and regulatory authorities as required.

Seasonal Stampede Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead Planning and logistics for traffic management and vehicle park access
  • Identify and secure additional parking lots and services required for passholder parking (offsite parking and shuttle services)
  • Parking team oversight and supervision. Lead, motivate, hire, performance manage all team members
  • Support in the development and execution of role and department specific training

Qualifications and Education Requirements

The ideal candidate will be proactive, optimistic and have worked in a dynamic environment where they have experience delivering on multiple priorities and will hold the following qualifications:

  • 5 years' supervisory experience
  • 5 years' experience working in a guest services related role
  • Class 5 Drivers License and ability to provide a clean driver's abstract
  • Experience using event management software or parking software considered an asset
  • Prior experience working in a large diverse workforce, operating 7 days/week.
  •  Ability to manage difficult situations in a controlled and effective manner.
  •  Ability to demonstrate empathy and diplomacy during interactions.
  •  Excellent investigation and interviewing skills.
  •  Ability to write accurate, detailed reports, incident summaries and record observations.
  •  Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  •  Ability to work in a fast-paced diverse environment that is ever-changing, while still being able to manage the processes and the details associated with tasks
  • Class 2 or 4 Driver's License considered an asset
  • Completion of Flagging & Traffic Control Training Course considered an asset
