You'll take the lead on complex, large, and mega‑scale projects across transportation, industrial, municipal, institutional, and commercial sectors—shaping systems and infrastructure that support communities across the country.

Your Impact

  • Oversee mechanical engineering calculations, designs, specifications, and installation details across conceptual, detailed design, tender, and construction phases.
  • Lead the design of HVAC, Hydronic Heating/Cooling, Snow Melting & In‑Floor Heating, Plumbing, Sanitary, Storm, Natural Gas Piping, Fire Protection, Clean Agent Systems, and BAS.
  • Deliver preliminary design, planning, and estimation support for transportation, commercial, and industrial building projects.
  • Apply your understanding of major project delivery models including Alliance, PDB, DB, DBF, DBFM, DBFMO, IPD, and DBB.
  • Act as design lead—providing day‑to‑day guidance to engineers, designers, and modelers; attending client meetings; and supporting Lead Engineers and Team Managers.
  • Prepare and professionally seal contract documents and coordinate submissions for permits and tender packages.
  • Serve as Project Manager and Engineer of Record (EOR) on multiple concurrent projects, ensuring technical accuracy and quality.
  • Support project financial tracking, scheduling, resource planning, and budgetary reporting with PMs and Discipline Managers.
  • Contribute to proposals, pursuits, fee estimates, and strategic resourcing planning.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and are registered as a P.Eng. with PEO (additional provinces an asset).
  • 10–15 years of mechanical engineering experience, including minimum 5 years of Canadian experience designing mechanical systems for transportation, industrial, and commercial facilities.
  • You bring applied experience with transportation‑related buildings—bus garages, train terminals, MSFs, airports (terminals, baggage, hangars, CUP), ports, marinas, and storage facilities.
  • You have deep knowledge of OBC, ASHRAE, ASPE, NFPA, SMACNA, CSA, AREMA and industry mechanical engineering standards.
  • You're skilled at providing mentorship and technical guidance to intermediate and junior staff.
  • You are confident engaging contractors and defending mechanical design intent.
  • You're experienced with HAP/Tracer, duct & pipe sizing tools, and mechanical equipment selection.
  • PMP certification is an asset; project management experience on technical and financial aspects is required.
