We are looking for Quality Lab Tecnicians to perform quality testing, inspection, and documentation on blown film and flexible packaging products to ensure compliance with customer specifications and internal quality standards. This role supports production through timely testing, troubleshooting quality issues, and maintaining accurate records.

This position is currently open and reflects a new position created to support organizational growth.

This position starts at $21.52 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity. This range is provided to ensure clarity and promote equitable access to employment opportunities.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Quality Testing & Analysis

  • Conduct routine and non-routine testing of blown film products, including:
    • Gauge/Thickness measurements
    • COF (Coefficient of Friction)
    • Tensile strength and elongation
    • Haze/clarity and optical testing
    • Seal strength and hot tack
    • OTR/MVTR (as applicable)
  • Perform incoming raw material inspections (resins, additives, inks, etc.).
  • Verify film properties against customer specifications and internal standards.

Process Support

Communicate test results to Production, Extrusion, and Quality teams in real time.

  • Assist in troubleshooting film quality issues such as:
    • Gels, Carbon
    • Gauge variation
    • Contamination
    • KCOF
    • Wrinkles, bagginess, or optical defects
  • Support process improvement initiatives and root-cause investigations.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Accurately record and maintain all test results in LIMS or quality databases.
  • Prepare Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for customer shipments.
  • Complete non-conformance reports (NCRs) and assist in corrective action documentation.
  • Maintain sample retains and ensure traceability.

Equipment Maintenance

  • Calibrate and maintain lab testing equipment per schedule.
  • Identify equipment issues and coordinate repairs as needed.
  • Ensure testing areas meet 6S and housekeeping standards.
Qualifications

When your expertise drives us:

Required

  • Experience working in a blown film extrusion, converting, or flexible packaging environment.
  • Strong understanding of polymer behavior and film performance characteristics.
  • Good communication and data entry skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, GMP, HACCP, or other quality systems.
  • Experience operating film test equipment (Instron, KCOF tester, Mocon units, etc.).
