About

About the Role You will be part of an elite team responsible for safeguarding the nation's borders, enforcing customs and immigration laws, and facilitating international trade. As a Customs and Border Protection Officer (CBPO), your duties will include detaining suspected violators of federal laws, conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances, determining admissibility for entry into the United States, preventing illegal entry of prohibited goods and contraband.
Duty Locations You have preference to choose one from over 30 mission-critical locations across the country including major ports like Anchorage AK; Douglas AZ; Calexico CA; Washington D.C.; Key West FL; Honolulu HI; Chicago IL;
Calais ME etc. For some duty locations recruitment incentives are available in varying amounts depending on service duration ranging up to $15 000 annually. Annual base salary ranges from GS-9 $61 111 - $ per year with locality pay varying by location as well fully trained officers can receive overtime pay

This is a career ladder position allowing progression through grade levels GSGS11GS12 upon successful completion time-based milestones look forward at making meaningful contributions.
