This role requires deep, hands-on experience optimizing WordPress websites at both the server and application levels.
Key Responsibilities
Perform a comprehensive website speed and technical SEO audit
Diagnose performance bottlenecks at the hosting, theme, plugin, and code levels
Optimize WordPress for speed and scalability
Improve Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS) across all key pages
Implement advanced performance techniques including:
Full-page and object caching
CDN configuration
JavaScript & CSS optimization (defer, async, eliminate render-blocking)
Image optimization (compression, WebP, lazy loading)
Database cleanup and optimization
Reduce server response time (TTFB)
Ensure mobile-first performance improvements
Validate changes through performance testing and reporting
Required Skills & Experience
Strong background in Technical SEO and WordPress optimization
Demonstrated success improving website speed scores and Core Web Vitals
Advanced knowledge of WordPress caching, hosting environments, and CDNs
Experience working with performance plugins and custom configurations
Familiarity with performance testing tools:
Google PageSpeed Insights
Lighthouse
GTmetrix
WebPageTest
Ability to identify and fix performance issues without relying solely on plugins
Preferred Qualifications
WooCommerce performance optimization experience
Knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, and CSS
Experience with high-traffic or content-heavy WordPress sites
Understanding of SEO implications of performance changes
Success Metrics
Faster page load times across mobile and desktop
Improved Core Web Vitals status in Google Search Console
Increased PageSpeed performance scores
Stable site performance with no visual or functional issues
