Keyera seeks a highly skilled and experienced Senior Pipeline Integrity Specialist to join our Asset Integrity Team. This position will be based in Calgary and will be focused on supporting and mentoring a team of engineers and technologists. The individual will provide expertise and technical guidance in the identification, susceptibility, assessment, and remediation of hazards impacting Keyera's pipeline assets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support/mentor a team of engineers and technologists with overall accountability for pipeline integrity threat management programs including: corrosion, crack, deformation threat management and threat Integration
- Oversee the development of analysis processes to evaluate and determine the safe operating conditions of the pipeline system related to assigned threat management programs. Provide recommendations on mitigation and pipeline repair needs
- Review and maintain Pipeline Integrity Management Program (PIMP), pipeline standards and procedures
- Co-ordinate the provision of subject matter expertise to various technical departments throughout Keyera
- Lead the technical improvements in pipeline integrity assessment methods and techniques associated with assigned threat management programs through involvement in company and industry research and development activities
- Support staff through external PIMP audits
- Review records and provide recommendations on acquisitions and divestitures
- Co-ordinate strong stakeholder engagement and communication with departments through the Keyera organization that support or are supported by the assigned threat management programs
- Provide Effective Technical Support to Engineering Projects
- Support the (MOC) process as it applies to pipeline assets
- Provide compliance monitoring support using key performance indicators and communicating the results to management
- Lead or participate in incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are tracked and completed
- Collaborate with the Team Lead - Pipeline Integrity to set yearly goals, objectives, and plans for the Pipeline Integrity Team
- Travel to operating areas as needed to promote the PIMP and support investigations
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree or diploma in an Engineering-related discipline plus at least 10 years of related experience, and registration or eligibility for registration as a P. Eng. with APEGA
- Previous experience in integrity management, application and/or development
- Previous experience in ILI/NDE interpretation and processes.
- Previous experience or knowledge of pipeline operations or related environment
- Previous experience in pipeline repair and repair methods.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, able to successfully lead colleagues through difficult issues
- Demonstrated technical leadership, mentoring qualities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to drive for results through improving processes
- Demonstrated personal agility
- Strong understand of cathodic protection principles (AMPP CP Level 3 or higher preferred)
- Proven leadership, communication, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Strong ability to influence and collaborate across organizational boundaries
- This position is office based with occasional requirements to travel to field offices, field excavations, industry committees/conferences, vendor facilities, regulatory offices, and other locations as required
