Job Posting - SQL / T‑SQL Developer (Remote Position)

Position Summary

As an SQL / T‑SQL Developer , you will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server databases used for our data warehouse, datamarts, and internal applications. You will play a key role in transforming and preparing data for use in Microsoft Power BI .

You will ensure adherence to best practices related to performance, security, and documentation. You will collaborate closely with the IT team and internal stakeholders to guarantee the stability, quality, and evolution of our data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize:

    • Tables, views, indexes, and database structures

    • Advanced T‑SQL queries

    • Stored procedures and functions

    • ETL processes feeding data warehouses and datamarts

  • Ensure database performance, consistency, and data integrity.

  • Configure and maintain security parameters and access controls.

  • Prepare, transform, and structure data for use in Power BI .

  • Participate in testing, validation, and deployment of enhancements and new features.

  • Produce and maintain clear and up‑to‑date documentation.

  • Participate in an on‑call rotation: the individual may be on call to respond to urgent incidents related to databases or data flows. The on‑call period is daytime only (7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.).

  • Collaborate with the IT team to ensure compliance with coding standards and best practices.

Candidate Profile

  • Strong mastery of T‑SQL and Microsoft SQL Server

  • Solid understanding of data warehouse concepts, datamarts, and data modeling

  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot SQL performance issues

  • Strong attention to detail, rigor, and autonomy

  • Team player with excellent communication skills

  • Experience in the retail or distribution industry is considered a strong asset

Technical Requirements

Required:

  • Microsoft SQL Server

  • Microsoft Power BI

  • MS Excel and MS Word

Assets:

  • VBA

  • Microsoft Access

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
    OR

  • Equivalent relevant experience
