• Detect and question people suspected of violating immigration laws, inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens, smugglers of noncitizens at or near borders by maintaining surveillance from covert positions using infrared scopes during night operations
