Overview
The U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) is a critical component of the Department of Homeland Security, responsible for protecting America's borders and enforcing immigration laws.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a Border Patrol Agent, you will be part of an elite team tasked with safeguarding our nation's borders, deterring illicit activity, and enhancing economic prosperity.
- Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways to prevent illegal entry into the United States.
- Intercept smugglers and apprehend undocumented noncitizens.
- Maintain situational awareness through surveillance from covert positions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Possess one year of general work experience or meet certain education requirements.
Education Substitution Requirements for GL-7 Grade Level:
A bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement based on class standing, GPA (i.e., 3.0 or higher out of 4.0), honor society membership OR receive a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement OR one full year of graduate-level education in law enforcement-related fields such as criminal justice, homeland security etc..
