The Customs and Border Protection Officer plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the nation's borders, ensuring the enforcement of customs, immigration, and agriculture laws. This position requires an individual with exceptional analytical skills to detect potential threats and make informed decisions regarding admissibility.
To excel in this role, one must possess specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level that includes:
- Detecting suspected violators of federal,state or local laws using proper law enforcement methods
- Enforcing regulations relating to importing/exporting goods from/to US
- Conducting interviews as part of law enforcement activities for gathering information on potential violations
