The primary objective and goal of this position is to lead, support and help fulfill regulatory requirements for the Operation team of Hamilton air separation and hydrogen production units.  Role will be responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability and efficiency of production equipment, and actively drive and monitor the training and growth of operating staff up to 10.

  • Oversee the safe and efficient operation of boilers, pressure vessels, reciprocating compressors, and packaged refrigeration systems as per relevant codes and regulations.

  • Works with facility Production Manager to implement daily/weekly/monthly production plan, and establishes production standards and controls that aid the Operation and Maintenance teams in ensuring safe and efficient operation of production units.

  • Apply theoretical and practical knowledge of operations, corrective and preventative maintenance strategies, and troubleshooting to support continuous operation and improvements. 

  • Actively promotes that all standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety and quality plans are respected and followed. Works with all stakeholders to develop new and/or revise existing SOPs, and responsible for rolling out and maintaining training plans.

  • Provides training and coaching for the members of the Operations team to ensure that objectives are attained. Develops technical training plans for the group concerned and ensures that they are implemented. Conducts performance reviews of the team members and gives them feedback.

  • Support the development of turnaround (TAR) shutdown and start-up plans, and abnormal operating condition production plan to ensure product quality and throughput.

  • Improves and promotes product quality and occupational health and safety principles. Actively displays and encourages safe behavior, knows and respects all of the procedures provided in the ALMS (Air Liquide Management System). 

Are you a MATCH?

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required, college/university degree preferred.

  • 7+ years experience

  • Valid 3rd class operating engineer's license with the TSSA.

  • availability to work as required, including weekends, public holidays, nights, and being on call for emergencies.

  • Technical and working understanding of Air Liquide's operation processes / Ability to read key operating documents and to troubleshoot production problems
