Position Description

We are Canada's largest independent information technology services firm, and we continue to grow our Financial Services Technology practice across the country.
CGI is seeking a Senior Software Developer with core banking application development experience to join our Wealthview Banking team. In this role, you will play a key part in enhancing and evolving the Wealthview core banking platform, delivering high-quality, scalable solutions that support financial institutions across Canada.
The ideal candidate brings strong C++ development experience, working knowledge of C# and SQL Server, and hands-on experience with data conversions, SQL scripting, stored procedures, and data mapping within a core banking environment. You will work closely with Product Management, Business Analysts, Project Managers, and client stakeholders to translate business requirements into reliable technical solutions.
This is a permanent, full-time position.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain application code for the Wealthview core banking platform
Maintain the architectural integrity of the Wealthview Banking application
Create new application components and enhance existing functionality based on detailed functional and technical specifications
Work closely with Product Management to create product requirement specifications and provide accurate effort estimates
Collaborate with Business Analysts to develop detailed design specifications and effort estimates
Analyze and interpret business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions
Develop code in accordance with defined client and CGI coding standards
Perform code reviews to ensure compliance with architectural, performance, and quality standards
Conduct performance analysis and tuning of the application
Perform unit and system testing to ensure application changes are delivered with a low error rate
Resolve defects identified during unit, system, or quality assurance testing
Troubleshoot and debug application issues to identify and resolve faults
Provide technical documentation to operations, training, and documentation teams
Escalate items perceived to be out of scope to the Project Manager
Collaborate effectively with internal teams and client stakeholders to ensure timely and high-quality delivery
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and/or Business OR Diploma in IT and/or Business with equivalent professional IT experience
Experience
Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in the IT sector
Minimum 8+ years of hands-on experience as a Software Developer
Proven experience in core banking application development
Technical Skills – Must Have
Strong proficiency in C++
Working knowledge of C#
Strong experience with SQL Server
Hands-on experience writing - SQL scripts and Stored procedures
Experience performing data conversions for core banking systems
Strong understanding of data mapping and data integrity
Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate business requirements to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong commitment to quality and attention to detail
Technical Skills – Nice to Have
Experience with Wealthview Banking, RFS, or Ovation
Experience working with traceability matrices
Soft Skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Positive, collaborative attitude
Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
Excellent time management, task planning, and prioritization abilities
Ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing client requirements
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision

Strong relationship-building skills with clients and internal team members
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $70,000–$125,000. This role is an existing vacancy
