The OpportunityJoin a team of actuaries, data scientists and engineers at the forefront of leveraging data to drive decisions at every level of our organization. The insurance industry is undergoing a data-driven, technology revolution and you will be in the driver's seat.
Insurance pricing, underwriting, claims and other core insurance functions are all looking for actionable insights that can be coaxed out of our data. You will work with these business areas to realize this value & further embed data science in our operations.
Our leadership team collectively seeks to expand our very strong and diverse talent base. You will take shared ownership for continuing this successful growth.
What you'll do:Coach and mentor a highly productive team of data scientists, actuaries & insurance professionals.
Establish relationships with stakeholders and create a culture that treats data and data science as essential assets.
Deliver on an ambitious model-building and pricing roadmap for commercial insurance.
Development and deploy modern tools and pricing solutions.
7+ years of experience in data science, actuarial or other analytical roles.
Cross-functional skills that allow you to straddle the worlds of data scientists, actuaries, engineers & core insurance functions.
Expert knowledge in price modelling, prerequisites, eg: machine learning, programming, price elasticity, retention and conversion modeling
Recognition as a clear subject matter expert in one or more of; pricing, underwriting, claims, predictive modeling, data science, or other insurance functions.
Excellent coaching skills with examples of successfully developing colleagues.
The ability to not simply build a great algorithm or solution but also to generate buy-in, excitement and support for the offering.
Expert knowledge in related fields (statistics, insurance products, computer science)
The salary band for this position ranges from $110,000 to $140,000. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
