Key Responsibilities
- Detecting people suspected of violating immigration laws by inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations
- Pursuing undocumented noncitizens at or near the borders using surveillance from covert positions including night operations with infrared scopes
- Interpreting tracks marks physical evidence of illegal entry to identify culprits
- Checking farms buildings traffic areas cities performing transportation checks on a variety of government assets like vehicles vessels off-road vehicles ATVs snowmobiles motorcycles
The GL-5 grade level requires one year general experience taking charge making sound decisions maintaining composure in stressful situations learning regulations methods through classroom training on-the-job instruction gathering information questioning observation examination documents records OR bachelor's degree education substitution successful completion full four-year course study field leading bachelor's degree accredited college university combination Experience Education calculated resume transcripts submitted application.
