The role requires partaking in daily missions that include detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration laws. Candidates must be able to analyze information rapidly and make prompt decisions while dealing effectively with people in a courteous manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Detecting violations
- Maintaining surveillance from covert positions
- Performing farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols,
- Patrolling the international boundary using various government assets such as vehicles or vessels for law enforcement purposes.
The ideal candidate will possess one year of specialized work experience demonstrating skills necessary for making sound judgments and decisions in firearms use and providing effective customer service during law enforcement matters.
Paying candidates based on duty location is fair given locality pay rates differ across areas with federal LEO offering higher pay rates than other industries; additionally Border Patrol Agents may earn up to 25% more after completing required training via BPA Pay Reform Act 2014 A career ladder allows promotion within grades GL-5 GL-7 GS-11 GS-12 without reapplying once completed successfully each step taking over 52 weeks this progression ensures career growth
