Located in the vibrant area of Headingley, Ormston School opened its doors in September 2024. We provide a safe and supportive environment for pupils aged 5 to 18, ensuring they leave school equipped with the skills and experiences needed to contribute positively to their communities.

As a KS3/KS4 SEND Teacher, you will have the opportunity to teach small, bespoke class groups of up to 6 pupils, supported by a Teaching Assistant. Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons that align with the school's curriculum and schemes of work.
• Assessing, monitoring, and reporting on the learning needs and progress of your pupils.
• Adapting your teaching methods to cater to the diverse strengths and needs of your students.
• Setting high standards that inspire and motivate your pupils.
• Demonstrating strong subject knowledge and participating in preparations for external tests.
• Teaching across the KS3/KS4 Curriculum and adapting learning for students with SEND.

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
• Successful teaching experience, particularly in delivering qualifications up to GCSE.
• Knowledge of the National Curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
• A strong understanding of how children learn and the ability to adapt teaching accordingly.
• Excellent relationship-building skills with pupils and a good grasp of child protection and safeguarding practices.
• Proficient ICT skills, especially in using technology to enhance learning.
