• Detect and question people suspected of violating immigration laws,


• Inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations,


• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near the borders,
  


• Maintain surveillance from covert positions using infrared scopes during night operations,
