Key Responsibilities
Safeguarding the American People by Enforcing Customs Laws and Regulations.
Assist in detaining suspected violators of federal, state, or local laws using proper law enforcement methods. Conduct inspections of individuals and conveyances to ensure adherence to all relevant customs regulations.
Implement border security policies through swift decision-making processes when encountering potential threats. Investigate cases involving immigration offenses while working closely with other government agencies where necessary.
‣Legal Knowledge : Maintain up-to-date understanding of all current U.S. customs statutes along with other pertinent international agreements governing import/export practices within America's borders.
The knowledge will be utilized during daily routines which include routine stops at checkpoints located near ports-of-entry nationwide.
