Your Responsibilities: Develop innovative control and estimation algorithms for diverse thermal management applications including climate control, battery systems, powertrain management, heat pump systems, and vehicle electronics. Create high-quality C code optimized for real-time embedded systems. Design and implement rigorous unit, Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test cases to validate system functionality. Collaborate closely with test engineers to troubleshoot and optimize your algorithms at both bench and vehicle levels. Adapt or develop thermal system models to facilitate efficient control-focused development processes. Work alongside electrical, mechanical, and firmware engineers to execute effective control strategies. Design and establish robust fault detection and response mechanisms to enhance user experience. Continuously refine comparative models to evaluate alternative control algorithms based on critical performance metrics such as cost, efficiency, and complexity. Analyze fleet telemetry data to enhance software quality and generate new software functionalities. Qualifications: A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science, or equivalent experience. At least 3 years of experience in developing control algorithms for physical systems. Strong programming skills, particularly in Python. Solid foundation in control theory, system dynamics, and model-based design. Excellent collaboration and communication skills. Experience with JIRA/Confluence or similar project management tools. Hands-on experience in hardware integration, system debugging, and performance optimization. Understanding of electrical engineering principles, including circuit design and analysis. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with linear systems and state estimation methods. Experience in implementing thermal control algorithms in embedded systems. Knowledge of refrigeration and HVAC systems. Understanding of automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet). Familiarity with microcontroller interfaces and experience with sensors and signal processing. Ability to leverage fleet data for insightful design decisions. Proficient in C and C++, with additional scripting experience (Python, Perl, Shell). Experience using modeling tools for control algorithm development (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink).
