About

As an Advanced Data Engineer at Honeywell, you will be at the forefront of building data-driven solutions that power our Smart Energy initiatives. Your work will enable intelligent energy management, optimize grid operations, and support sustainability goals through advanced data engineering practices. You will design and maintain scalable data systems that process large volumes of energy-related data, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and actionable insights for smarter energy decisions. You will report directly to our Sr. Software Engineer Supervisor, and you'll work out of our Raleigh, NC or Atlanta, GA location on a Hybrid work schedule. Hybrid Work Schedule Note: For the first 90 days, New Hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite M-F KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Develop scalable data pipelines to ingest, process, and analyze energy consumption, grid performance, and IoT sensor data.
Design architectures for structured and unstructured energy datasets to support predictive analytics and real-time monitoring.
Build and maintain ETL workflows for energy data integration across multiple sources, including smart meters and distributed energy resources.
Work with big data frameworks (Spark, Databricks, AWS Glue) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) to enable high-performance energy analytics.
Optimize data workflows for energy efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Implement data governance and compliance standards for energy data security and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with energy analysts, data scientists, and business teams to deliver insights that improve grid resiliency and sustainability.
Automate data processes and integrate with CI/CD pipelines for rapid deployment of energy solutions.
Prepare data for advanced analytics and machine learning models that predict energy demand and optimize renewable integration.
Document processes and enforce best practices in energy-focused data engineering.
YOU MUST HAVE Proven experience in data engineering for large-scale, complex systems, preferably in energy or industrial domains.
Strong knowledge of big data technologies and platforms such as Spark and AKS services.
Proficiency in Python, scripting, and Terraform for cloud-based energy solutions.
Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and integration for energy datasets.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to address energy efficiency and sustainability challenges.
WE VALUE Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering or energy analytics.
Ability to drive innovation in Smart Energy solutions and think strategically about energy transformation.
Strong leadership and mentorship abilities.
Passion for sustainability and emerging technologies in energy management.
