We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Sacramento, California. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the efficient movement of materials, parts, and finished products within the warehouse. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that all goods are accurately received, stored, and dispatched, contributing to the seamless operation of our distribution center. This position demands a strong commitment to safety and efficiency. You will operate various types of equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, to transport materials to and from designated areas. Accurate record-keeping and attention to detail are paramount as you will be handling inventory documentation and updating system records. Your ability to follow instructions, work independently or as part of a team, and maintain a clean and organized workspace will be key to your success. We emphasize a proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential issues in the workflow. This role requires adherence to all company policies and procedures, with a particular focus on safety protocols. Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading of trucks.
- Moving materials from receiving to storage areas.
- Picking and staging orders for shipment.
- Operating forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
- Performing regular equipment checks and basic maintenance.
- Maintaining an organized and clean work environment.
- Assisting with inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Proper use of required PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a material handler or in a warehouse environment preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency in operating material handling equipment.
- Good understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Commitment to safety and willingness to wear appropriate PPE.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
